Welcome Forumites,

I'd like to know which planes you all think typify both the RFC and the Imperial German Air Service. Personally I would pick,

For the RFC: the Sopwith Pup, as I often feel it gave the Flying Corp breathing-space until better types arrived, such as Camels and SE5a's.

For the Imperial German Air Service: this was probably a more difficult choice. In the end I'll have to go for the Albatros DVa, due to the large number of them and the various personal colour-schemes.

What are your preferences? They don't necessarily have to be your favourite aircraft, just what you believe typifies the two Airforces.

Best Wishes to everybody, Ken. *;D

For the RFC it has to be the BE2.

Sheer bloody-mindedness.

Hi,

For the German side I'd say the Albatros (DV) planes in general and the Fokkers (Dr I).

On the Allied side the Sopwith planes in general, the Spad's.
