Thanks Volker.
A few years ago I built an R/C model of one (the Balsa USA kit.) I chose it because I wanted a WWI model, I didn't want a build a bi-plane, I wasn't ready to build a model with wing warping, and I didn't want to put ailerons on a plane that should have used wing warping. The Bristol kit had ailerons so I assumed the original did. Then, after I started building it, I decide to find out for sure about the original, but I could find any info about the original that made it clear which the original had.
Thanks for the photos too.

Tim,
aileron control.
You might look at
http://www.wwi-models.org/Photos/Bri/Brist...tM1C/index.html
where you can find some photos of the only original M1 C still in existence (the Butler aircraft in Minlaton, Australia). I took them December last year - unfortunately I had to take them through the glass, so they are not the best.
But if you look on the first photo, you can clearly see the aileron.
