Seriously, chaps. This matters. The marquee in the back- ground suggests preparation for a parade at a showgrounds, for a post-war spectacular.
Assemble the parade float, run it around the ring to the cheers of the multitude...
Unfortunately, I cannot make out the rest of the wording, but if it is Weakly Times, it suggests Melbourne, as the Weekly Times was and is a rural rag published in Victoria. It may be a play on words here. I think it is a bunch of returned airmen letting their hair down by lashing up a circus contraption for the Decorated Cars section of a parade. Check "Picture Australia" ( by search engine) for similar things.

You must be from the artillery, whose motto "ubique" has often been translated as 'all over the place' (as opposed to on the target). No cigar I'm afraid.

C'mon, Breg; This thing is running out of legs. Put us out of our misery.
Not Oz; ergo elsewhere. Post-war. Not USA, they'd use bit of Jenny, and there aint' none. Brits wouldn't have the wits, or if they did, you wouldn't see anything for Union Flags and bathing-beauties.
Am I getting close with Canada?

Leighterton, just after the armistice, farewell concert for the locals. Apparently the AFC did a number of concerts for the locals during their time there (see book "ANZACS over England") all of which were very well received by the locals. I had read about this particular farewell concert where they built a "plane" but this is the first time I've actually seen the photo of it.

It comes from this site:

I must say I'm surprised you lot gave up so early!

Drat!

Damnit. Having narrowed down all of the remaining possibilities, I was just about to guess that. Roadhog,

"Memento mori."
