Sure...it's Australia's first national airline, isn't it? Though it looks a little like a stage prop. Is it Australia's first film commercial for Australia's first national airline?

WOW! A steam-powered aeroplane from the Ozarks. I'd say it was coal fired. Hope it's got an automatic stoker, otherwise that first flight might be really short...would Jethro Bodine have something to do with this?

Looks to me like some kind of a parade float. Doc

If this an unretouched photo (and I have my doubts) it looks like it may have been assembled out of a number of wrecks. The rear of the fuse sure looks like it has the shape of the Fokker EIII. And the forward taper of the TE of the top wing looks vaguely like the top wing of a DVIII complete with streaked camo!

I swear though that I've seen that SHOODFLY lettering as a computer font! And the rudder looks like it's been touched up. Maybe also the white crosses on the wheels.

I don't even want to think about what the wing loading on that thing might be.

What's correct so far is:

It's Australian.
It is a stage prop.

How about Where? When?

My guess is France, 1916 and a Fokker M7 to M10. It looks to have a mock rotary engine.

What about aircraft type and year? Looks like a portable canvas hanger in the background that were used at the front.
