Yes, but at this late stage of the war the Germans had no rubber and the British were low on wurst, so they made an exchange

If not gray, then they were certainly a lighter color.



Much lighter than the black stripes on the wheel cover.

Del, Of course you know you are correct about the grey tires. How did you make them? I think Glenn said something about using "marine fuel tubing". Cheers!

I took the easy route John, got me some black and white liquid shoe polish and mixed my own. Have plenty for many tires and touchup.

In your first picture, the tires are protected from cracking by a light colored cloth wrap.

........Not grey tires, sorry.

In the second, the tires aren't grey either.
