Fok.D.VII 244/18.
PeterOz:
You are correct in your statement that it was flown by Ltn.Lothar Frhr.von Richthofen and Ltn.Aloys Heldmann. It is not clear why LvR flew this machine, it is assigned to Jasta 10 and is the personal machine of Ltn.Heldmann. The back and white checkerborad on the tailplane was his personal marking. On the upper wing in board from the right side inboard from the cross are Ltn.Heldmann's stylized initials, AH in chrome yellow.
Ltn. Lothar Frhr.von Richthofen flew Fok.D.VII 230/18 for a period. He also flew a Fok.D.VII where the fuselage was red to the immediate rear of the cockpit and rest of the fuselage and empennage was yellow. The red nose was the Jasta 11 colors and the yellow was the colors of his Uhlan regiment. I don't know if this was D.244/18.
Blue skies,
Dan-San

Lothar von Richthofen served with Dragoon Regiment (1st Schlesisches) No. 4 'von Bredow,' garrisoned in Lueben (today Lubin) near Liegnitz. His brother Manfred was with the Uhlans.

I believe the "DVII" test flown by MvR was a prototype with a "V" designation, not a proper DVII. I don't recall the number. (like DSA,I'm too lazy to look it up.)

Yes. I have some scans of this machine. Lothar von Richthofen used this Fokker when Jasta's 11 base was in Puisieux aerodrome.

Lothar's Fok.D.VII.
PeterOz:
The configuration of the illustrated Fok.D.VII is incorrect, ltn. Lothar Frhr.von Richthofen could not have flown that machine with those nose panels. The first Fok.D.VII with that panels configuration was ordered in July 1918, 100 Fok.D.VII 5050 -5149/18. They would not have reached the front until late September or early October 1918. Ltn. Lothar Frhr.von Richthofen was wounded in action on 13 August 1918. He did not return to the front before the war ended.
Blue skies,
Dan-San
