New to the Forum
Good Morning all,
As this is my first post, I thought I'd introduce myself.
I have been an avid amateur aircraft historian for many years concentrating on WW2 and Korea. I suddenly realised that my knowledge of WW1 aviation was sorely lacking (apart from the usual that is a Camel or Fokker D.VIII type thing).
So to rectify that I'd thought I would join a forum read a lot and ask some numpty questions from time to time.
All the best,
Kev
Here are some pictures courtesy of the Australian War Memorial (some of you I'm sure have seen them before). They are unique as they are actual colour images (not colourised) using techniques that are no longer used.

Lots to learn here at the Drome. Ask any question and there is someone who knows the answer. If you build, be sure to check out the model section. That can be an all consuming activity in itself.
Welcome

Welcome Kev!
At least a few things here will be very familiar. Aside from procedures that relied heavily on radio communication between flight elements, all the combat tactics you've studied in WWII and Korea were born in the Great War!
Enjoy! ......................TV

"Welcome to the Squadron old bean you'll be on the dawn patrol with me. Leave your watch, wallet, and any valuables with Aircraftsman Barking here. Now cut along to the Mess and meet the chaps."
Major Ginger cocked a finger to the scruffy looking Aircraftsman and the two of them skulked into the cover of a pile of oil drums.
"Usual arrangement Barking," the CO whispered. "Should the Bloody Red Baron nobble that poor gallant fool before brekkers it's a fifty fifty split, goddit?"
"Would I welch on an Occifer and Gentleman like wot you iz Sir?" Replied Barking putting on a completely insincere look of pained innocence.

Welcome.
Spitefull21:
I wish to extend my welcome to you Kevin. I believe you will find the Forum interesting and addictive. We will meet at 5000 meters over Bapaume at 0500
hours, my Fok D.VII has a red fuselage with a yellow fire breathing dragon on the length with yellow wings with a red dragon between the crosses.
Welcome and bell skies,
Dan-San
