It Was a Keeper

Dear Osterkamp, From everything I have read on the fighter it was a good solid machine that showed a lot of promise. I am not expert enough to know if it had teeth cutting problems or not, most aircraft did.

If you are interested I bought what looks like a parasol monoplane version of the D type machine on eBay last year. Possibly a prototype for 1919. I just hope I haven't put it in a "safe" place and can find it. VR, Roadhog "Memento mori."

It was fast, too - 137 mph? Also, the engine was the same (or quite similar to) as the one "teethed" with the SSW D.III and D.IV.

The D.VI remained a prototype only. Two examples were built, of which the first crashed. The other was destroyed by the Allies after the chauffeur "ratted out" for money the Siemens Direktor to the IAAC for hiding it and they destroyed it.
