Gnome 7 cylinder rotary

Hello
Im looking for plans to build a fullsize running Gnome rotary 7 cylinder replica
The engineering isnt difficult and I can get access to a complete original example for finishes and other details. What I need are original drawings

Peter- I do not have a full set of drawings, but I do have a German Gnome manual from 1912. If you think it would help (photos and drawings), I can send you a digital copy on a CD or even e-mail it to you in sections.

ROFLMAO... But not at you.
I had this idea a couple of years back of making a miniture working version of a gnome engine, comparaible to this scale if you can imagine it...

1 gnome cylinder : 1 cox .020 or .010 engine cylinder.
Larger cylinders would make a larger engine, but I was looking into something that would fit a small to medium flying model.

Of course, all the plans are still locked up in my head, and I'm still trying to wrestle with the idea on how to start the damn thing, let alone how to feed it...

This is a cox .020 engine: http://www.coxmodels.com/prodinfo.asp?number=C00100
Its less than 3 inches long and 2.5 inches high...

If I only had a machine shop...

Red face

Oh well, nevermind about my earlier post (which was my first, ever btw lol). I found out that the manual that Chip has for the Gnome, isn't detailed enough for what you're doing.

I wish you luck and I'll try to watch to see when you have any progress.

Oh by the way... maybe THIS will help

I stumbled across this site yesterday.

http://www.replicaengines.com/products/gnome.htm

maybe you should give them a call. You'd think they had orginal plans before creating a running scale replica.

Question The beginning of something beautiful?

Will this thread become a diorama then? Because I missed out on the beginning of John Reid's "How to Build an Aircraft" from the beginning.

It would be nice to see one start to be born. If that's what you're intending, then I'll just take my seat up front.

Good luck!

Peter,
WW1 Aero magazine has factory drawings of both the 80 and the 110 LeRhone available, http://www.ww1aeroplanesinc.org/docs/engines.htm ,if you want to build some and sell them these would be the ones to do.
