Question WW1 Propeller

I have a propeller supposedly from a WW1 biplane that I'm trying to identify. It's made of walnut, with a rivited brass covering on each leading edge. The wing span is aprox.114". The blade is 9" wide at the widest point. The hub is
10 1/4"(outside diameter), with a 3 1/4" hole in the center. There are 8 holes on the front-- they seem to go all the way through to the back side. The hub is 71/2" deep. Stamped on the surface of each wing is an anchor
(1/2"aprox) high with the letters U on one side of the anchor stem and an S on the other. There is a 3'"oval decal on each side that says LIBERTY, superimposed over a picture of the Liberyt Bell. There are some words that I can't make out along the inside edge of the oval. There is also a number---2681--- stamped on one side.

Can anyone help me find out more about this prop- what type of plane used it, etc.

Hoping for help--

During World War I, Hartzell began manufacturing propellers for use on Liberty engines and these were originally named "The Liberty Propeller, manufactured by the Hartzell Walnut Propeller Company". In 1918, Hartzell received an order for 1000 Liberty propellers at $800 each from the U.S. Navy.

You can try contacting Hartzell to see if this is what you have.

Do you have any pictures?

Here is a link: http://www.woodenpropeller.com/Liberty.html

But that is 8', not 9 1/2 like yours.

Perfect timing! I just added a Wooden Propeller Forum to my wooden propeller web site (which is where the above photos came from). I would suggest that you also post your question there, in the "Early" propeller category. There is even a photo tutorial on how to add pictures. If you have pictures but don't want to go through the process of uploading them, go right to the bottom of that page.

My understanding is that Hartzell made only about 4 models of propellers under the Liberty logo, then they were forced to change it because of a trademark dispute with the Liberty engine manufacturers. I have two of them, one of which is pictured above from the web site, but the other is hanging in a nearby restaurant, so I haven't bothered to re-photograph it and add it to the site. I think I have some picture of it around and I'll try to find it and edit into this post.

(Also, please check your private messages.)

EDIT:

Is this what it looks like? (Sorry for the poor quality)

Prop Plans

Anyone have detailed specs, engineering plans, source or a reference for an 80 hp LeRhone propeller?
