Initials.

Snipe:
The ZAK inspector stamped the spar, he also put his initial's there with the stamp. Wing spars mostoften were made of multipe pieces that were joined together and the in house ZAK inspectors checked every spar for proper assembly and construction.

Interesting, Dan,

I was going by the cutaway drawing in the ws datafile special on the DrI, which clearly shows a single line running across the top spar in the centre section which indicated a closed loop. I was a little confused as the same drawing shows two lines running from each side of the fuselage - in line with the separate control system you mentioned. Would there be some form of cross linking of the ailerons or is the drawing wrong?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what does ZAK stand for?

Thanks,
Mike
