Two seater Albatros Question.

Can anyone tell me what two-seater plane, described only as an Albatros, my grandfather would have flown "Im Sommer 17" when he was attached to "Fernflug-Abteilung AOK III unter Rittmeister Wolf"?
Thanks.

There are different opportunities for late August to November 1917 when he stayed with FA 3 and made long range missions for AOK III.

I think he flew a 260 hp Albatros in these long range missions - either C.X or C.XII - but I guess any aircraft expert-forumite can be more specific here.

Long range reconnaissance aircraft.

Rammjaeger:
In 1917, Fl.Abt.3 may have used the Albatros C.X and C.XII aircraft, but I think they may of used the Rumpler C.IV. It had better high altitude performance. On 8 May 1918, they were equipped with six Maybach powered Ru.C.VII high altitude serio-photographic reconnaissance aircraft.

All I know Dan-San is that FB wrote of flying with Beobachter Leutnant Weil in "unser Albatros".

Unser Albatros??

MikeC:
With that quote, I would think it was the Alb.CXII. The Alb.C.X appeared at the end of 1916 and by July it was replaced by the Alb.CXII.
