Thanks Scott I saw that, but my problem is that in a Sqn signal publication it gives that werke number (358) to E III 103/15 of Kampf-Einsitzer-Kommando Habsheim during the winter of 15/16.

I would not be inclined to give unquestioned credence to any information contained in the Squadron/Signal book. There are plenty of errors. Peter Grosz gives 105/15 a w/n of 358 and I would go with that.

Incidentally, I am also inclined to believe Peter mis-identified the photo of Udet in his Eindecker in the Fokker E.III Datafile. There is no discernable serial number or w/n. The 'plane in question has no rear gas tank and the forward decking isn't raised as it should be on an E.III OR an E.II.

Most tellingly, there is a photo extant of 105/15 taken from the port side (showing the serial) which has the same sash EXCEPT it is about 1 meter further forward than on the photo in the Datafile. Peter may have been familiar with this photo and assumed they were the same machine.
