Original Fokker D.VII for sale!
They gotta be nuts!
How would you like to buy a Fokker D.VII ,one of only three in the world? Well the good folks at the Knowlton Historical Society here in Quebec,in their great wisdom, may just have a deal for you.Seems like they would like to great rid of this priceless gem in order to make room for some nice local folk art.
First it was the Avro Arrow and now the Fokker D.VII .Have Canadians no pride in their aviation history? Guys if it has to go at least lets keep it in the G.W.N.!!!
Maybe the German people would like to have it returned to them if we just can't find the room!!

Surviving Fokker D.VII's can be found in:
Militaire Luchtvaart Museum, Soesterberg, The Netherlands
Brome County Historical Society, Knowlton, Quebec, Canada
National Aviation Museum, Ottawa, Canada
Deutsches Museum, München, Germany
Royal Air Force Museum, Hendon, England
Musée de l'air et de l'espace, Le Bourget, France
National Air And Space Museum, Washington, USA
There are something more than three survivors.

John,
I would certainly like to know your source for this information. It is a very surprising development.

There is fine documentation on this original Fokker D.VII by Jim Charters on http://www.wwi-models.org/Photos/Ger...her/index.html. I do not know what the prime purpose of the Brome County Historical Society is, but I doubt if original WW1 aircraft are their prime business.
Is there information how it got there? Judging from the pictures it seems to be in marvellous condition, but a little bit tucked away in the collection for such a rare piece.
