The german text ' Eroberte Savoia Pomilio am Flugplatz von Campoformido[Italien 1917]' means in english ' captured Savoia Pomilio on the flying field of Campoformido [Italy 1917]'
The flying field of Campoformido in Italy was behind the Austro-hungarian lines after the battle of Caporetto (1917). On the same site there are pictures of an Italian Hanriot HD.1 in impeccable state and a severely burned out Italian Sopwith.
