How frustrating... No one will believe me if I said I was about to guess R.E.8! But the photo did resemble my 1:72 R.E.8 model after my cleaning lady accidentally nudged it off the shelf!!!
may your models stay safely in their display cabinets.

Yes, upper wing is R.E.8 like. I am wondering why engine cylinders are not at least partially exposed?

'cos the fuse is on its side. Notice the airscoop behind the prop blade(at 3 o'clock).

Yes, this is the answer. I think an exhaust pipe can be seen too.
