Rumpler C. What?

Hi Ross und Der Grun Flieger, Sorry gentlemen, but there's only room for one winner here! Ross, I believed this to be a Rumpler C.III from the coloured 2-D's in ""BOMBERS 1914-1918" PATROL AND RECONNAISSANCE AIRCRAFT"" by KENNETH MUNSON, but upon further investigation in MUNSON's "AIRCRAFT of WORLD WAR I" I found the rudder to be the "comma" style. There was no C.II production, that leaves us with the Rumpler C.I ! Der Grun Flieger, the Rumpler C. IV had the 'Libelle" [dragonfly] wing shape with forward-curving tips to the lower mainplane....Congratulations Ross, WILLKOMMEN to the board. It's about time!I will update the scoreboard later. In the meantime I'll leave you with the rest of the fotos for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for participating and better luck next time to all that did not win! FOKKERJ

Curses,... I thought it was a C I but Ross beat me to the punch. I put in the C IV just in case.

I didn't know about the forward curve on the lower mainplanes of the C IV either. The book I have has the upper wing shown only. Learn something new every day.

Phil

No Worries!

O.K. fine, be that way! Sorry, nobody is perfect! It was just a test and you passed with flying colours! I almost had time to take a breath after I hit the submit key, when Yavor P.M.'d me with news of my unfortunate error. Then Ross vented his post, see above, testy ain't he? My mistake, Ross isn't new to the board! BEWARE! He's schleichen [stealthin'] his way to "Acedom", be rough as you want and relentless! But, PLAY NICE! The new board is.......
