Pfalz interior question

I received my 1/32 Pfalz D III from Squadron yesterday. Looks great and i can't wait to start. In reviewing the instructions, I noticed that it calls for the interior to be a wood color. I seem to remember something about Pfalzs having a gray painted interior, for sure on the D XII, but I was wondering if that applied to the D III. Anyone know for sure? Thanks.

Normaly I am aware the neutral "Grey" Color (MK GC08 Grey) was reserved for both external and interior Metal parts for corrsion protection. While it's possible the entire interior may have been so painted, it would not have been neccessary. The Extrerior was an overall light grey (MK GC17 Silbergrau) the fuselage itself was made from a thin plywood shell over a ribbed structure made in two halves and glued together. Thus this implies a varnished wood interior as per the Kit Directions. It is a much narrower fuselage than the Albatross so I think a LOT less interior detail will be visable from the open cockpit even more so with a seated pilot figure in the way ?

I just got mine and I am going to apply some Spada WE Decals over a wood color in a limted area under the cockpit opening and use a darker Wood colored Wash to blend the bulkheads in. My only wish was an Eduard color fret was ready NOW for it !

Yours Mike

In photographs of captured Pfalz D.III 4184/17 where half the "skin" has been removed it seems aluminum dope is present even in the interior. Later some D.IIIa types seem to have at least some varnished wood bulkhead / fomers present.
