Seems to be the Swedish Triplanet, otherwise known as the Thulin triplane, the Kjellson triplane, or the Kjellson-von Parat triplane.

But my references indicate it never had an official name.

You have the right machine, although I don't know what the correct designation is. It had a Thulin engine, but that does not make it a Thulin. The source I have calls it the FVM triplane, but I cannot decode the description - which is:

FVM ƒgƒŠƒvƒŒ[ƒ“

ƒXƒEƒF[ƒfƒ“ŒRƒIƒŠƒWƒiƒ‹‘ˆ†‚ŒR—p‹@B
ƒtƒHƒbƒJ[Dr1‚Ž—‚‚‚‚‚ƒRƒs[‚Žv‚‚‚‚‚‚AFVMiŒR—p‹@H?j‚ƒIƒŠƒWƒiƒ‹‚ “x—K‹@B
ƒtƒHƒbƒJ[‚ˆ‚A•—ƒ‚Q’ŠԁiŽx’Œ‚‚Q‘gj‚Ž—ƒ‚‚Aŏ‰‚ ‚•‚ƒ{ƒfƒB[‚‚ ‚B
ŒR‚‚‚鐻‘H‚‚AŽ“I‚‚ƒ`ƒ…[ƒŠƒ“‚”s‹@‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚‚B

If anyone knows how to handle this, I would appreciate knowing.

At any rate, bshahatzer has it and is our new ace. Take it away!

Try this one: http://www.avrosys.nu/aircraft/Flygkomp/15Triplanet.htm

I call it an FVM Thulin-powered Triplane. google it.

Cheers

The mysterious Swedish abbreviation FVM stands for Flygkompaniets Tygverkstder Verkstder p Malmen. This is the Army Aviation Company’s workshop at Malmen (Malm) which was aimed at repairing aircraft but also built own designs, till in the 1930's.

If that was an invitation for me to pose the next challenge, I respectfully decline. I've not the library sufficient to come up with an appropriately difficult challenge.

Rather, I intend to take my treasured ace status, my DFC, and the thanks of a grateful nation and retire to Sussex where I will tend my bees and make a through pest of myself every evening at the local pub, telling war stories about how it really was during the Great War.

Bshatzer, I think you are the first to decline. Your retirement sounds like fun. To bad I can't join you at the pub.

I will post the next then.
