Hi Breguet, Thank you kindly for straightening my name out on the scoreboard. That's the nicest thing anyone has done for me as of late!

I have a minor complaint about this challenge:
1. The dash board is a dead give away!
2. Also the landing gear with the signature "Oversized Tyres" really nails this one down....
This all provides some Lucky Devil with an easy win! Could you have made it any easier? Might as well add a point next to everyone's name!

Regards, FOKKERJ Feuchtwanger

Fokkerj's estimation of the ease of this one does not apply to me. I am embarrassed to admit my ignorance, but the dash board does not help me, and I must waive my free point. I see what appears to be a wing with square-cut tip and angular center section cut-out, no aileron evident, and rounded rudder. The personnel appear to be English. Something like a Sopwith Tabloid or a derivative would be a possibility.

That Tricky FokkerJ Feuchtwanger

Well, FokkerJ is certainly pulling our leg on this one. The only Oversize tires I see are on the cart carrying the remains. The ground personnel here have done a superb job of hiding most everything that might be of help in identifying this airplane

I suspect I would not be able to ID this either except I saw the album in which it originated. RFC is correct, but since that last time I presented a hint it turned for what I thought was a undentifiable mess of a crash and that turned into a ground ball, you are on your own for this one....

keep at it,
Mike

Canadian Curtiss Canuck? Based on Rudder shape, Insturment panel, Struts, whats left of the wing, and landing gear.

How about a hint? Is it British? Are we looking at a tailplane rather than a wing? How about Avro 504?

Ok, Ok a couple of hints. There are two dashboards to be seen if you look closely. The English did use them but it was not an English design. Oh, and the rudder is fairly distinctive if you extrapolate its line from what can be seen.

Context

Well, no guarnatee this was a New Jersey boy doing the damage, but it was a New Jersey boy picking up the wreck. Arthur Pickard, 79 Sq. enlisted man stationed at Camp Borden recorded this (and many, many other) wrecks in his photo album. This particular one may have been at Borden or at Camp Mohawk.

Nice job ulpilot...
