There's a caveat...
...I should have mentioned since Greg already knows this one (ID'd it for me originally in fact), he should be disqualified. Seeing the gentleman that his is though, he seems to have already done that! Thanks Greg.

The wing does seem to match a Hannover Cl-type. I count 7 ribs from the leftmost tip of the cross to the area that would be the top wing center section. Then, it looks like 3 more center section ribs, then the radiator. That matches up with the Windsock drawings of the top wing.
But based on that alone, it could be almost any of the Hannover Cl variants -- Cl.II, -III or -IIIa. If it is a Hannover, I'd be interested to know if Greg was able to narrow it to the specific model, and what points to that determination. Last edited by Patrick; 4 July 2007 at 09:37 PM. |

...though not crashed by a New Jersey boy, it did come from the photo album of Ken Unger, 210 Squadron. He had it labeled as a "crashed Fokker", but that's obviously wrong.
Greg pointed out it was elswhere captioned as having been shot down near Inchy 13 September 1918 without further corroboration.
