Breguet's Crash File #76

Well, I can offer you this one. Unlike more recent offerings, you can see most of this machine, although it is not a machine you see much of.

It looks like an overweight Eindekker but I'm thinking with that fuselage and tailplane it might just be an unfortunate Siemens Forssman (Final Version) that first flew in Sept 1915 and was, believe it or not, accepted by Idflieg in April 1916 albeit for training purposes only!

It is the SSW Forssman R plane, but the first version, not the second. Nosed over after a rare hop. Not that you could tell the difference from this picture, as changes were mainly in the nose. The second version was flown, with great difficulty and high risk, so that SSW could get some payment for their work. but eventually wound up breaking its back during an engine run-up. A point to Breguet, so scores are now :
