Here's a quick study I've done based on Machinbird's photo. The actual logo part of the decal seems to have morphed quite a bit over production. Many examples have a better defined star shape and some don't seem to have a star at all. I'll tweek my decal as more info becomes available.

This may help a bit:

Quote:
It says around the top 'Germania Luftschraube' and then 'Erste Süddeutsche Propellerwerke Göppingen'
Wooden Propeller Forum :: View topic - ww1 german propeller

I edited the text somewhat: it is Göppingen and not Goppingen, and added some capitals and another umlaut.

Josef,
Let me post a better shot of the logo.

I wanted to get agreement on the general appearance before I did so. Pretty Logo isn't it.

If it is possible, try to do the fire crinkle effect around the circle. Will be very difficult to do, I think. The Germania Luftschraube factory marking is really very amazing and classy

spoke too soon

Dan-San,

You know what? I believe I have jumped the gun.

I've been working on the Germania decal as I thought we had found a match and I overlooked the descrepencies between the prop that machinbird posted and the period photos. In the meantime I've been checking out the website Varesse2002 referred to, www.woodenpropeller.com, and came across a discussion on Integral propellers. Although only English and French subsidiaries are mentioned, the French logo was an exact match (sans iron cross of course) for the one prop.

I'm still going to finish the Germania decal first though.

Germania Decal

Here's my shot at the Germania Decal. Many of the details I put into the image are probably damage in the original, hard to tell. The rays may be, or may have been, gold, not off-white.

On to the Integral Decal. This is the French decal from Wooden Propellers

Looks like a match to me. Need to find the German text for the band.

Josef, probably I am out of step with you, my fault. Why do you want a German text for a French propeller of Chauvière ? Perhaps I am growing too old
