Breguet's Crash file Challenge #195
Hi folks,
as #194 is inconclusive, here is the next file

Hello flamingo
I think that giving name of the street should be easier than giving the name of the plane

Hey Joachim,
seems you had the same idea to work on at the crash files...
I agree to Froggy.
At least we have a hint with No.35.
Cheers

I´ll try to puzzle some of the facts together.
•The tailplane looks like 1916/17 Albatros-built.
•The shape of the wing and the different colors seem to belong more likely to a fighter than a C-type.
•The ailerons don´t match with a C.VII,
•fin and side rudder seems to long for C.IX maybe as well for D.V. In addition it is not to much rounded.
So I´ll conclude to an early Albatros D.III (not OAW built).
Regards
Aquilius

Well Joachim,
I was again typing to fast...
There´s another point I though long about how to call this.
(Don´t know why I lost it?)
• there´s no fin behind the tail skid, which obviously is not hurt in the crash
So it could be a C-type.
The later ones didn´t had 'rectangular' wings.
The first one with 'fighter-wings', I think was as well the last one without a 'tail-skid-fin' (you know what I mean).
That is Albatros C.X
can´t say much about the 'box-shape' of the fuselage but the C.X was a mixture I would say, boxed with much rounded edges.
Regards
Aquilius

Hi Aquilius
the span to chord ratio is wrong for a fighter, and there are ailerons on the lower wing so it is a C type with raked tips and the chord of the stabilizer is too large for a C.XII or J.I so C.X is the perfect answer. I did not really look for the underfin (?) but you are right, both C.XII and J.I had them!
That was the good news but here is the bad news: from now on you have to wait three hours because you are an ACE!

Well Joachim,
what a pity, the 'three hours thing'.
But I am patient.
I just have become an ACE!
May I invite you to a little drink?
By the way, thanks for the Gotha picture.
Cheers
Aquilius
