Salmson 150hp radial engine
QUOTE FROM; Hi, Does anyone have any info on this engine? I've searched the web and have found little.
Mark.
Of the many early Stationary Radials this engine seemed to one of the better ones but unfortunately they didn’t have the assistance of the British engineer Sam Heron who was greatly instrumental in the development of the Wright J-5 engine around 1924. But then again the British didn’t want to listen to him either so he went to the U.S.A, helped Wright and the U.S. Army I believe, but possibly the Navy. With the above mentioned Wright J-5. Lindbergh then just flew it to Paris.
Now if Salmson had of just put a Spherical Segment cylinder Head on their engine we might not of heard of the Hispano-Suiza engine.
Yours, M.L. Anderson
