Breguet's Aircraft ID Challenge Records

The rules :

The thread title must be "Breguet's aircraft ID challenge #......"
The score board, link and rules must be copied to the beginning and end of each thread so that we know where we are.
The completed aircraft must have been either; designed, built or have left the ground during the '14-'18 period and be identifiable by the poster.
The photo must show the whole aircraft - from whatever angle, or at least 2 views of a 3 view drawing (photo by preference).
Challenges which depict a machine already earlier presented are disqualified
(always check the list at earlyaviator.com/br.challenge when in doubt !)
Once someone has got 5 correct answers under their belt they become an ACE. Once they become an ACE they must wait 12hrs after the posting of the new challenge before they can post an answer.
To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.
The first person to ID the challenge correctly gets to post the next challenge. If this can not be done for any reason Breguet himself will post the next challenge.
If there is any doubt as to the eligibility of an aircraft for the challenge details should be PM'd to Breguet BEFORE the aircraft is submitted.
The final arbitor in relation to questions about the rules will be Breguet.

Russian Kavanko monoplane. Nieuport VI wings and tail, assorted Farman parts. 50 hp Gnome. Three built, used as trainers. The above wing bracing is another identifying feature

The machine was designed and built by the son of general A.M. Koванько, Александр Александрович кованько. Тhe son of the general had the urge to design aeroplanes and he designed a monoplane which re-used already proven parts of the Nieuport IV monoplane (the tail - elevator), and the Farman VII (own Russian numbering to make things simple = ). The machine used a 50 hp Gnome rotary, driving a pusher airscrew. The machine performed very well, but no orders were forthcoming.

First of all, I should say thank you to Miroslav Pokorny, who show me the exclusive set of pictures coming from Nesterov's family album. Pictures shown above come from this album. With pictures and story at hand (P. Nesterov and A. A. Kovanko known to be friends, working and fighting togheter), it was easy to identify the aeroplane as Kovanko monoplane (моноплан Кованько).

Rbailey is right on time, with a small spelling error, so 0.7 points and next Challenge as well. Varese2002 provided data about the man who designed this "scrap-built" aeroplane, 0.3 points.

Кованько developed his monoplane further. The last picture of the monoplane in flight shows the machine fitted with a nacelle. The original machine was very austere as the pilot sat completely in the open without cover. Although in those times there was not much flying done in the stormy and icy Russian winters, this cover (and the streamlining) was certainly no luxury for the pilots.

The father of A.A. Кованько was one of the cornerstones of Russian aviation for a very long time. More can be found
