Jasta 5 Bavarian Alb D.Va UKN Pilot and SN
The existence of this Jasta 5 Alb D.Va is reasonably well documented. There are profiles and some excellent images by Mark Miller, but I have found no certain ID of the pilot.
I believe it may be Wilhelm Lehmann, who twice served as Jasta 5 C.O., but I have no direct evidence. A 1990 profile by R. N. Pearson depicts a similar cat logo on an Alb DVa, but that plane (D.7353/17) has no Bavarian diamonds. The pilot is identified as a Lt Lehman and it is placed with Jasta 59 in September 1918. Wilhelm Lehmann was KIA in late June. Can anyone help ID the pilot or SN of this aircraft? I am well along with a paint job on an electronic model, and would like to know more about my subject.
