Hello

Not sure ,but I have found a bird which could be the right one :

This tail with high set tailplane and front fuselage could match with the

SWEDISCH FVM S 18

which was designed and built at the very last period of the Great War.

Hello Richard B,

Good work!

Except it can't be a SWEDISCH FVM S 18, because all of the information that I have found says that the FVM S 18 was in service during 1919-1925 in the role of a Reconnaissance Aircraft. Was it designed or built prior to 1919?
If not then it must be an Albatros C.XII!

I think that it looks more like an Albatros than an Albatros does!
It certainly would explain why Flamingo put a Fokker D.VII/E.V tail fin puzzle piece on the wing top!

Nice looking machine.

HAPPY TRAILS, FOKKERJ

Of course it could be the FVM Triplanet (the Triplane, Advanced Trainer, 1918-1919). I can't see the horizontal stabilizer or trailing edge detail very well, but anything is possible.

Hello Flamingo,

Here's this :

Here is the FVM Triplanet (the Triplane, Advanced Trainer, 1918-1919):

It was flown for the first time in September 1918.
The top wing does appear to have a center section cut-out and possibly scalloped trailing edge, I can't see much of the tail plane, except the rudder could be a match. The colors don't look right though.
What really got me going is that the Officers standing next to the wrecked airframe make the wing look smaller than I would expect it to look with the FVM S 18.

Very Interesting!

HAPPY TRAILS, FOKKERJ

Oh ya, it does have those triangular Fokker Fin Puzzle pieces arranged in the shape of a Crown!

Some nice pictures of Swedish machines here!
When I posted my first aid eh.. help I thought someone would compare the properties and find the identical pixel count (452 x 330) and then place the second on top of the first and delete the white background. That would have placed the triangle on it's propper wing position suggesting a Swedish crown.
In the third picture I did that for you and reveiled part of the fuselage number - did anyone notice?
Without photoshopping this would have been far too easy.

Congratulation FOKKERJ. Hope everybody had some fun with this one!

Yes Flamingo we did have some fun here, you Devil!

Thanks goes to my wing-man Richard for keeping the bad guys off of my six o'clock!

It's half past sleepy time here, I will post later.
Of course I'll have to take a really old fotograf and then cut it into several pieces since I am not fluent in photo-shop.

Thanks for the great challenge, FOKKERJ
