Vickers
Hi you guys. Slight correction to my earlier post.. The gear on the repro Vickers is the Scarff-Dybovsky(& not Kauper which was on the Caqmel ). Both are similar principle ,but in the Kauper ,the "pecker" opperates directly on the internal gun "trigger", whereas on the S.D. gear, the pecker opperates the (originaly Ground version ) old trigger & hence the long internal thigger bar, through to the actual internal gun "trigger" (as per Kauper ). With the Pup & 1 1/2 Strutter , the S.D. gear is via a vertical push rod & gears mounted on an high tensile brass casting, thru. a crank to horizontal push rod. This latter is in articulaqted form & such that when pulled down to strait line pos'n. it opperates the pecker on the trigger & fires the gun. This straitening & thus firing, is bruoght about by depressing a lever that extends into the cockpit below the padded windscreen , which is attached to the back of the Vickers. B.T.W. (ref your 3 photos...) The L.H. is Hyland type "A" as per Camel, Middle is type"E". I made all these guns some 25 years ago & cant recall type on my Vickers..It's for the Pup & so can't use a "lever" Hyland type as it would foul the screen ..this type you reach over it & pull up & back to cock the gun......Following are photos of same repro from different angles...
