it seems it fell from a steamer, or rammed its hull.
...so it could be the first Kamikaze?

How about a Kamakazi attacking a "Banana Boat"?

Have a good hunt

At first I thought that they might be Americans (so many different looking types!), but now I think that they are Swedish.

A Thulin Type K, fuselage shape and rudder or elevator shape.

Under the fuselage is a part that looks very much like the elevator of a DFW C.V and there could be a fuel tank of a two seater but the wheel looks rather small.
The background looks like a ship in a drydock??

It always amazes me, what you figure out of pictures where I didn't know what to look for.

Apart from the boxy shape and the "S" I don't see anything distinctive.
Comparing the pictures the rudder doesn't look similar to me.

But you are right, it is the Thulin K!

And in fact it is the crash of Enoch Thulin in May 1919.
I have it from here: Enoch Thulins död

It was the personal aircraft of Enoch Thulin, the only reamaining type K in Sweden (15 were sold to Holland) on which Thulin trained for the meeting in Kopenhagen 1919. He crashed into the "Öresundsvarvets". And do I get it right - his head was found 40 meters away from his body?

I will give 0.20 to Bruno - for mentioning the incident
and the Lion-part 0.80 to FokkerJ - for his ID of the Thulin type K

Greetings Aquilius,

Thanks for your kind words.
I just saw the "BOXY" fuselage shape and searched from there, the fuselage appeared wide more aft than normal. The rudder or elevator looked close.

I wasn't sure which Thulin it might be as there is such a variety as I learned researching Flamingo's Thulin Triplane. My only Thulin K foto looked close enough!

"heads up"

Thanks for the great challenge and lessons.

I will post the new thread as soon as possible.

I like Graham Hunter's idea of giving a WARNING or "HEADS UP" before the next challenge to give people time to prepare their resources.

It's hard to figure out a good time for posting the next BCFC and to be able to stick to that time....... Perhaps before Dinner... or after Dinner....

Or RIGHT NOW!
