Information on a very small Heine Propeller requested

Hi everbody,

I am currently searching for information on a wooden Heine Propeller.

The propeller has a diameter of 1,5 meter and the following information on it:

17 PS, D150, H40, HEINE, 40765

Both blade tips have the Heine-Logo on it.

I am wondering about the low Horse Power and the rather small diameter.

Does somebody know, on which type of aircraft this kind of propeller was attached?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards

hallo,
i think that airsrew was sold recently on ebay.
i am sure it is from after ww1 and was on one of this ultra light aircraft in fashion in the 1920 years.
there was several designs using motorcycle engines which might fit.
there is lot published in contemporary magazines and books from that time so it should not be that much difficult to find something.
cheers

Hi!
Koloman Mayrhofer is, probably, right. Such a propeller is good for a high speed engine, e.g. 3000 to 3600 rpm, and true airspeed of about 20 m/s, 72 km/h.
Regards,
Yavor

Hi,
thanks for those remarks.
I already tried to find something in dedicated magazines, etc. but without success.
I even received the information that it should be a very early Heine-Propeller (the company was founded in 1910).
Does sombody know a concrete aircraft model?
Best regards

hallo,
looked a bit into my files.
the most likly engine candidates are
blackburne 698 ccm which is rated 16 hp in some documents several aircraft
douglas 500 or 700ccm rated between 16 and 20 hp udet kolibri
siemens und halske superior 19 hp blume und hentzen eindecker
sergant 16 hp
there are also salmson and other french and british engine which fall into this category but i doubt that someone from this countrys ordered a propeller by heine so i am pretty sure it comes from one of this german lightplanes.
often they used many different engines on one design but in the published material it is only referred to one type.

the hp ratings of this little engines varies in some documents . but basicly they are all in this range.

so certainly the time from 1920 to 1930 ist the timeframe.

cheers
