THE RULES

1. All aircraft are of the 14-18 period (Must have left the ground during this period).
2. The score board, link and rules must be copied to the beginning of each thread, so that we know where we are. The score board and the correct answer to the challenge must also be placed at end of each thread.
3. All "ACES" with a score of 5.0 or higher must obey the 3.0 hour handicap. All others with a score of ZERO to 4.99 may start immediately, if not sooner! Offenders will be dealt with severely!
4. To be eligible for correct ID an answer must include at least one characteristic of the aircraft that helped in its identification.
5. And whom ever wins this challenge will have to provide a new one! If this can not be done for any reason, please PM Breguet and he will take over as host!
6. If an ace gives the correct answer too early, the challenge is over, he gets no point but has to post the next challenge. In lieu of the fact that the "novices" have in effect been "cheated" of their "exclusive" time that next post should be a relatively easy one. Anyone repeating the correct answer at the right time gets neither a point nor the right to post the next challenge.

Hello,

I think this is Fokker A.III (Fokker Eindecker in Austro-Hungarian service). The wing with string attachments, rectangular shape of the fuselage, a shape of horizontal rudder and of course – Austro-Hungarian soldiers around.

Greetings

Marek

Richard

this is a tough one!

Ok, the people look Austrian so the aircraft could be Italian. For a fighter it looks too small, and for the two-seaters the flat rear fuselage top and tailplane do not match. So I say it is a Caproni trimotor bomber Ca.1 or Ca.3 depending on the (different) designation systems. It seems there is a cockade visible on the wing.

Bonsoir/bonjour

Richard,It seems that there are two planes collided? Is this a false impression of me?

Well, the guy on the far left is looking in the grass for his dropped contact lens (or monocle).........

and the part of the fuselage in front of the guy on the right has been "Photoshopped"........

and overall, it appears to be a bright and sunny day......

Greetings Richard,

For all of the reasons already given and also the horizontal stabilizer (tail-section) and the aft fuselage. Oh ya...and the guy bent over looking for his monacle!

Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter.

HAPPY TRAILS, FOKKERJ

I don't think it is a 1/2-strutter - I don't see the forward part of the fin which should be visible (unless it got ripped off), and the tailplane appears to be strut-supported on its underside near the leading edge.

Now, I don't really like the way the guy on the right is staring at the lost monocle dude......

Bonjour/bonsoir à tous .

I don't rip anything from the picture .
I only erased the national markings ,wich made the ID too easy .
I think that you have to ID the uniforms first , then ,the aircraft ID will be quite easy .

Good luck

Richard
