Hannover CL.IIIa 3879/18

Hi!

In the book "Hannover CL.III", written by PM Grosz, are the photo below:

Hannover CL.IIIa 3879/18 (w / n 1517). There is no indication of date, place or unit.

This Hannover is reproduced in the old Airfix kit:

Is written in the instruction of Airfix:

Operated by a unknown schlachstaffel, Western Front, 1918.

Anyone know what unit this Hannover belonged? Place?

Cheers,
Franklin

Han.Cl.IIIa 3879/18

Hi Franklin:
Han.Cl.IIIa 3882/18 was assigned to Schlasta 3 in October 1918. With serial three digits apart itis possible that Han.Cl.IIIa 3879/18 was also assigned to Schlasta 3. The Han.ClIIIa assigned to Schlasta 3did not have any design or unit marking, the aircraft had large white numerals painted on both sides of the fuselage centered between the leading edge of the tailplane and the fuselage Latin cross. Reference; SCHLACHTFLIEGER! page 185.

Thank's for your answer, mr. Abbott.

In which aerodrome Schlasta 3 was based in October 1918? Dercy-Mortiers?

Schlasta 3 was subordinate to the 4th Armee in this date?

Cheers,
Franklin

In November and December 1917, Schusta 3 was stationed at Dercy-Mortiers Airfield in the German 7.Armee, flying escorts for [I]Fl.Abt.277(A).In March 1918, All the Schutzstaffeln were redesignated Schlachstaffeln.(Schlasta)From 26 September 1918, Schlasta 3 was located in the German
5.Armee, first at Preutin Airfield to 21 October 1918 moving to Mercy-le-Haut Field. On 31 October 1918, Schlasta 3 moved to Stenay Airfield to the end of the war. If you are interested in the Schusta/Schlasta you might be interested in:

Schlachtgeschwader

Hi, mr. Abbott,

Sorry for the delay: thanks a lot for your help.

Two more questions:

Which Schlachtgeschwader the Schlasta 3 was belonged?

It was in some ArmeeKorps area?

I live in Brazil and will be buying some books at Amazon. I put your book in my wishlist.

Cheers,
Franklin

What schlachtgruppe.

Hi Franklin:
On 26 September Schlasta 3 was assigned to Schlachtgruppe 2 with Schlasta 13, 19 and 29b. On 6 October 1918, Schlasta 26b was assigned to Schlagru 2. From then to the end of the war, it was composed of Schlasta 3, 13, 19, 26b and 29b. I don't have the Armee Korp assignment.
