You may want to check the story of 8040 and 8383 captured on March 25, 1916, Hoyer raid.

Yavor

From the Kriegstagebuch (KTB) of Seeflugzeugstation Flandern I in Zeebrügge the following excerpt can be important for this Short

Quote:
10. November 1916

Lt.z.S.
The machine of Schuler was a Friedrichshafen FF 43 which was on operational test in Zeebrugge, but was not approved on.

This particular Short Admiralty 184 Type Tractor Biplane Seaplane was from the series 8001 - 8030 built under licence by S.E. Saunders. The machines 8001 - 8013 were fitted with a 225 hp Sunbeam Mohawk, the rest with a 240 hp Sunbeam.

It would be interesting to recognize the background in the picture of this German captured Short.

Cheers

Kees
