Ltn. Karl emil Schäfer.

Hi Wings:
This event took place on 9 March 1917 about 1030 hours at Pont a Vendin, near Loos. when Ltn. Karl Emil Schäfer, Jasta 11, flying Alb.D.III 2062/16, shot down 2Lt. G.F. Haseler of No.40 Squadron(RFC) who was flying an F.E.8 A'4874. 2Lt.Haseler became a POW. This was Ltn. Schäfer's 6 victory, and Jasta 11 nineteenth victory.
Just prior to bringing down 2Lt. Haseler, Ltn.Schäfer brought down 2Lt. W.B. Hills, who also was POW and Ltn. Schäfer's fifth victory. Lt. Hills, No. 40 Squadron (RFC), was flying F.E.8. 6399 was forced down at Faschoda.
Blue skies Wings,
Dan-San
