Friedrichshafen FF 33E

Good morning.

I search photographs or of information concerning the cockpit of Friedrichshafen ff-33e or another version.
I fear that they do not exist....

I do not find them on Internet.
There are not photographs in "Windsock Datafile n°073- Friedrichshafen FF 33E"

Regards.

I found this book, but no painting or photograph of cockpit.

It is a book in German with outside views (photo and drawings) of plane.

Si somebody wants to see it, say it to me.

Regards.

You have that Friedrichshafen book I'm looking for quite a while!
Can you recommend it? Do you know where I can get one?

Unfortunately I can't help you out with a cockpit shot of that aircraft.
Will see if there is something in one of the old magazines, but there is not too much hope I find one.

Have you checked out the Windsock Datafile #73?
There are ususally all sorts of detail shots included.

available here: Windsock Datafile Specials - Aircraft of WWI
and sometimes on ebay...

Cheers

Aquilius

Hi Aquilius!
Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen GmbH von Theodor Kober und Siegfried Borzutzki (ISBN 3927513601) should be easily available in Germany (at least two copies for sale through Amazon.de or ZVAB).
I have it on my low-priority list but not on order yet.
Regards,
Yavor

Thanks, Yavor & Richard!

It was not offered by amazon for some time
and the book searching machines I used do not direct me to amazon as they usually do.

But one question, was Theodor Kober the chief desinger of Friedrichshafen involved in writing this book?

Cheers

Aquilius

Hi,

I'm reading into WS:

- P7 photo N°14 "above the pilot head (rear cockpit)".
- P25 Photo N°38 " an array of flare cartridge can be seen beside the observer's cockpit " front cockpit on the photo.

My english is not very good but I'm understanding that pilot is in the rear cockpit.

Is it OK ?

Do you have information?

Regards

Data from British report about Bulgarian aeroplanes.

Quote:
  • On "Friedrichshafen Seaplane, 1916 type" (FF.33E, Marine No.862) "Pilot's cockpit centre in line with trailing edge of bottom planes" [back]. "Observer's cockpit between planes" [front].
  • On "Friedrichshafen seaplane, 1917 type" (FF.33L, Marine No.1271, W.Nr.500) "Pilot's cockpit between planes" [front], "centre of observer's cockpit in line with trailing edge of lower planes" [back].

Thank you Yavor.

The aircraft was piloted by Leutnant-flieger Matthaus Stein (left) and co-piloted by Oberflugmeister Paul Fabeck (right), also the mechanic

Paul Fabeck is here into the front cockpit and the pilot into the rear cockpit:

Perhaps everyone will have his turn to pilot plane.... or not.

Regards.
