I would like to disagree. Torque and power measurement on the test stand was quite accurate (within a few per cent). The usual problem is estimation of lift and drag. Today's 'express' algorithms usually underestimate drag of such aeroplanes like B.E.2c/d/e or R.E.8. Air speed measurements at altitude were a problem too.
