It's appears to be something out of a theme park of some sort. (?)

Maybe in the botanical garden of a zoo. The crashed bush plane of an unfortunate African explorer.

Well, all the rust on it (and the metal propeller) makes me think it was a movie prop or something... now cast away in a theme park. Did a Jenny have any sheet steel panels?

Rob

Disney World? Disneyland Paris? It looks like decoration for a safari ride of some kind--- travelling down a river through thick jungle, you find all kinds of wierd things. Guessing only. Since Rexee is in Florida, I wonder about Disney World at Orlando.

But I don't think it's a Jenny--- too much metal, and the windscreens don't look right for a Jenny. Doc

Definitely an amusement park prop; perhaps modeled after a L.W.F. Model V

L.W.F. Model V Tractor info

Rod, you cannot be serious, amusement parks sure have no knowledge whatsoever of the quite rare L.W.F. Type V Tractor Biplane. Besides that it was an early example of a wooden monocoque fuselage

By the way the unique L.W.F. Type V Tractor Biplane in the Prague NTM Museum (Technical museum) is coming near to the the time that it will be visible for the general public again. Planning for the opening of the Prague museum is now mid-2010 (June / July), they must get that target because the museum is then 100 years of age.

Cheers

Kees

Who knows... this could be an early example of a fiberglass monocoque fuselage.

That was quick! Did they restore it much or just dust it off?!

The NTM Museum Prague was closed I think (from memory) in Summer 2006 or 2007 and will now re-open according to their site in Autumn 2010. I visited it in October 2008 by a special permission. The L.W.F. was then standing on the ground and could be seen and inspected closely.

There is rumour that the condition of the machine was excellent, although the dust of years hanging from the ceiling had to be removed. No information is available that restoring has taken place, sothat it still has the original wooden monocoque and wing structure (cloth etc.). Probably no new painting of the machine, which surely would ruin the last original L.W.F.

We will see in Autumn 2010, when the L.W.F. will be exhibited hopefully.

The project of the restoration of the NTM Museum Prague has taken years more then the original planning A pity. As the museum has such a rich collection seldom seen by the public (very much is in store and little exhibited) it is a pity that the museum is only restaurated and not enlarged. It will be a surprise which selection of the collection will be exhibited in Autumn 2010.

I like your pun about an early example of a fiberglass monocoque fuselage

Cheers

Kees
