Bonjour à tous

The men around the wreck seems to be Russians
and the rudder shape could fit with a Lebed -May Be unarmed Lebed XII ?

Bonsoir à tous .

I thought the same (Russian Albatros derivative) after you said it was no Albatros at all :

The tail (rounder rudder ,position of the tail horizontal surfaces ,big winschield could be those of a LEBED XI .
The horizontal surface of the Lebed Xii are not the same .

... … and that is it. My congratulations Bruno . The challenge was not easy in my opinion.

This is an unarmed Lebed’ XII served with the National Army – one of many “White” armed forces involved in the Civil War in Russia. The airplane was crashed on 18th August 1918 near Kazan in return way from sortie. Chased by “Red” Farman 30, pilot managed to escape thanks to advantage of speed. He misjudged the altitude thought and crashed in a forest near his home base.

For the record - Lebed' 11 was not mentioned as the type used by the National Army.

The picture has been published in an excellent Russian book covering a little known history of military aviation during the Russian Civil War. I would like to recommend it to you but the text is the best part of it - it is very well documented. Unfortunately (for most of Dromers) the book is all in Russian.

No problem, Bruno. No 1 is my primary target.

Keep watching behind your tail.
