Lewis Gun Ammunition Colours

I'm currently working on a large technical drawing of a 1918 Lewis Gun (aircraft type).
I'd like to incude some cutaway diagrams of the different ammunition types. Unfortunately I have become 'stuck' at this point, and am wondering if anyone may be able to help me with the following:-

Were the types of ammunition available Tracer, Armour-piercing, 'Standard', and Buckingham (incendiary)?

How were the different types of ammunition identified/marked?

Are there any good reference pictures available detailing the construction/composition of the different types of individual round?

Many thanks.

Would the following be correct for the Lewis rounds?:-
'Standard' = uncoloured
Tracer = red primer annulus, white tip
Armour-piercing = green primer annulus
Incendiary = blue primer annulus, blue tip

The ball cartridge ("standard") would have had a purple primer annulus. All these cartridges would have had brass cartridge cases, copper primers, and (so far as I know) cupro-nickel (silver colored) bullet jackets. Ransom

I don't know if you already have it, but I've got this original 1917-1918 Lewis aircraft machine gun "Hand-Book" that is loaded with information including a marvelous foldout color cutaway drawing of the gun including ammunition details:

And here's my same exact 1917-1918 Lewis aircraft machine gun replica by Repligun, which I'm considering selling together with the Lewis "Hand-Book":

Anyway, let me know if you would like to see that beautiful color foldout drawing.

Hi Glenn,

OK, here's that Lewis MG foldout drawing (two parts due to page length). Click-on and zoom in!

This Lewis "Hand-Book" contains 64 pages with great text and photos.

Gary Sewall

But, I see some differences with it :

Please, could you tell me the year of the Lewis model in picture at the Canadian Museum? Is it good for to be on 1916 for this Lewis in my link?
Thank you by advance.
Best regards.
Nicolas.
