Rumpler C down October 1918 G/2Br/25

Douglas T. Pardee's article "Enemy Aircraft with G and AG Reference Numbers" in the Number 3 issue of Volume 24 (Autumn 1983) of & Cockade (USA) lists a "Rumpler C" as British wreck number "G/2Br/25" and gives the date of "October, 1918.

Does anyone have anything more specific on this? I would really like to find the particulars of this report.

I think this refers to the victory by Capt C H R Lagesse of No 29 Sqn on 7 October 1918. He claimed a two-seater south-east of Houthulst Forest and as far as I can tell this was the only two-seater "captured" by 2 Brigade during the month.

I agree with Graeme - G/2Bde/25 most probably reflects what was claimed as a 'DFW' (sic) by 29 Sqn's Capt Lagesse to SE Houlthoust at 0900 during a hectic patrol on 7 Oct 18. The machine looks to have been from FA 3; the crew of Ltn A Lell & Ltn G Jenner listed in the Kofl 4 weekly return as vermist (missing) and it would seem further from COTGAS that they were both kia.

Cheers Russ
