Barrett, Jim, Al, et al.....
David Horowitz recently wrote a column for Salon Magazine in which he dared to criticize the NAACP for its intent to sue gun manufacturers. In response, Jack E. White, a columnist for Time Magazine, wrote a column in which he labeled Horowitz as a "bigot".......an obvious attempt to shut Horowitz up and destroy his reputation.
David Horowitz has asked his supporters to write Time's editors in protest.
For the Salon article that started it all, check:
http://www.salon.com/news/col/horo/1...acp/index.html
Horowitz's request can be found at:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/
I'm willing to share my letter to Time's editors with anyone who wants a copy. e-mail me if you're interested. And if you believe in the First Amendment, and you feel that Horowitz is anything BUT a "bigot", please add your voice.
Thanks and VBR,
Mike

It has nothing to do with WWI aviation...it has everything to do with freedom of speech and of the press. Come to think of it, isn't that one of the reasons we've been fighting to defend for 225 years?

Mike:
The ADL has been trying to do the same thing to the historian David Irving for over twenty-five years.
So, what's new?
Look, guys, the Feds would love to censor the 'Net, if they were smart enough to figure out how to do it. First Amendment freedoms are KEY to what we do here. The trouble really is that the "teeth" given to the First Amendment lie in the Second Amendment. Neither will long endure after the death of the other.

Without the first and second amendments, you can forget talking about WWI, WWII, or anything else that the government doesn't like. That makes this a viable topic for any forum on any subject.

Mike,
When the guns are taken from the hands of LAW ABIDING citizens, then only the OUTLAWS will have guns. And I believe the second amendment states " The right to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. " That is why the NRA is so vital in it's lobbying of congress. While everyone is supposed to have the right of freedom of speech, not everyone has the right to take the guns away from those of us responsible enough (key words here folks) to have them. These dummies in the NAACP, and the bleeding heart Liberal Democrats, and wishy-washy Republicans need to get a grip! Criminals and those bent on doing harm to other human beings WILL ALWAYS find a way to get their hands on a weapon. But I think that these incidents that are happening are in the minority compared to the responsible users of guns. These incidents happen to get the headlines (the media giving them sensationalist coverage) and then someone else decides "well I will do something a little more spectacular" just for the notoriety. All this hype crap about gun control is just that...CRAP! They NEED to put control of the children back in the hands of the parents. They NEED to bring back CAPITOL PUNISHMENT, for murder offenses. And they NEED to look at how the media is doing business, and how it perpetuates these heinous acts through it's sensationalist coverage. The media has the habit of "camping out" on a news event like the shooting at the Day Care Center in
L.A. I've always thought that it's EXTREMELY rude and insensitive of the media reporters to jam a microphone in the face of a relative of a shooting victim and ask "How are you feeling about this act?" WELL JESUS H. CHRIST! HOW DO YOU THINK THEY FEEL? How stupid can people be?! What? Is this guy or gal/ mother or father going to be feeling like getting out and partying that evening? NO! Then they jump on the wave of emotion by saying things like "Do you feel that this underscores the need for gun control?" Gee...Let me think?! It would seem to me that we need more media sanitizing. The media is to blame for the ignorant way that it covers a lot of this crap! And it perpetuates it through its coverage thereof.
VBR,
Jim
