"Sharks" Painting

I note that one of the Aerodrome members here, ONEALM, has a full page spread devoted to him and his painting "Sharks" in the latest issue of Aviation Week and Space Technology. This particular issue is their annual photo/painting issue.

Congratulations!

Wooo Hooo !

I haven't seen the issue yet and probably won't until the ASAA regional meeting on 22 January. We usually get a copy there since us starving artist types can't afford to subscribe !

AWST does a superb job of covering the ASAA annual forum and has put up quite a bit of money for prizes each year. They also run the great photo/art issue each year and it is really a great venue to get your paintings seen. They've been great supporters of ASAA.

This issue covers last year's show which was a retrospective show - all the best (available for display !) paintings from the prior 15 or so years of ASAA shows. Just one knock-out painting after another. I was fortunate to make the cut just to get in and doubly so to have a painting featured in AW. I'm really pleased.

For all the artists on the forum - you do not have to be an ASAA member to submit to the shows and while the competition to get paintings accepted is tough, I've seen paintings here that would make the cut. If you have any interest, check out- ASAA Website. Click on "Exhibit entry info" (left hand box on the main page) and read the rules. We allow electronic entries now so you do not have to shoot slides and you can even fill out and submit your entry forms online.

Mike
