Congrats to Russ Smith!

Just found out that Russ won an Award of Merit (a serious cash award) at the annual American Society of Aviation Artists Juried show at Pax River.

I *think* this is the painting he entered ... he told me a while back, but I'm not 100% sure this is the one:

Many of you will see Russ at the upcoming IPMS NATS in Atlanta. He's giving a presentation on creating a painting.

Russ has always been such a good source of inspiration and advice to me. We've been very regular email correspondents (and ASAA Forum buddies several times) since 1999.

Russ- Congratulations. Just got back from two weeks fly fishing in Montana and this is the first I heard of your award. Nice painting. Makes all the hard work worth it.
