i like that you're making an attempt to employ the golden mean, but i think your subject is too far to the right and you could balance out the composition better if you placed an object on the left rather than the fokker sign. too much foreground on the left. not enough balance.

ha. yeah, well, that might subliminally have a good thing going for it...good point tho - yes hazing it into a smoky backgroung might be one way to handle it.

good suggestions, russ.
here it is cropped and large letters hazed a bit. i do like the idea of leaving some breathing space in the foreground, however. this is just one quick idea tho, and i'll probably do a few more before i start to develop one into a more finished sketch, then the painting. and barker, i agree, the above composition is lacking - also needs one more buman in it or one less - odd number under six, you know... below comp isn't so swell yet either, but just trying different ideas at this early stage. i appreciate the good feedback from both of you.

Your locks are much prettier than hers - no wonder she covered up.

ha. well, don't know if i'd be up for a ceiling, but i did think a lot about michelangelo's arm muscles when i gilded the upper wings of a waco, on my back while on a plank between two ladders.
