British Airships

And one more. This one is reportedly already in print (May publication). Has anyone seen a copy? Looks interesting.

As it says, illustrated by Tony Bryan and Giuseppe Rava, but I don't know which one did the cover art.

Excellent! Looking forward to those two Osprey titles. I've seen the pusher aces artwork, but the Italian aces is new to me. They look super!

Speaking of aviation art....

http://www.asaa-avart.org/ASAA-Media-07.pdf

I'd lost track of Joe Kotula, who died in 1998. Lord only knows how many of my model boxes he illustrated!

Of the founding members of ASAA, I knew RG Smith best. What a nice man, apart from a significant talent.

Thanks for posting that, Barrett. Don't know if you realized, but the current ASAA Vice-pres is our own Mike O'Neal, and the current treasurer is, well, Me . I never had the chance to get to know some of the founders, as they were already gone by the time I joined, but I do have the honor of being able to call Keith Ferris a friend, and Bob McCall...I've never met a more enthusiastic, positive young soul!

We've been blessed with many GREAT aviation artists over the years, and are lucky to have such marvels as Russ, Mike, Steve Anderson and Jim Dietz (among many others) represented on this website.

As for the late Jo Kotula, his wonderful box art for several of those old Aurora 1/48 (or thereabouts) kits captivated me as a youngster and still do. And - some 400 covers for Model Airplane News! Incredible! His work was one-of-a-kind, with atmospheric skies and speed lines that could make a BE2c look like it was going about Mach 1 - yet look just right!

This is a tiny little pamphlet with a fun cover - artist unknown

by DVORSCAK - could be D Vorscak - can't tell

And how about another bird of prey? This is from the cover of the 1931 version of Naval Eight
