From the Osprey 2008 catalogue, I believe this artwork comes from the Duel series Camel vs DrI, anybody know the artist?

I have a soft spot for Weiss DrI since it was the first model airplane I ever managed to complete and paint.

And now, for a change a two seater, a DH4 attacking a railway gun
Thriller Picture Library #398 cover art (Original)
(Ref: BiffignandiTPL398)
Alessandro Biffignandi. A very rare surviving original page of art painted for the cover of Thriller Picture Library #398, Dogfight Dixon RFC, in February 1962. A stunning painting of a WW1 biplane attacking a German military train.

"The only good Triplane is a red one"
Pardon that clumsy allusion to an old Hollywood movie line -- "The only good (name an enemy) is a dead one" -- and pardon my immodesty for sending covers of my own books.
Attached are the covers of the Polish and Italian translations of Richthofen - Beyond the Legend of the Red Baron. I have no idea how or where the Italian publisher came up with a Fokker D.VII for the cover. But, while that aircraft has nothing to do with Manfred von Richthofen, this photo (in my view) is kind of nice.

Hi All,
Thanks for posting those, Peter! The D.VII photo is indeed unique, and has been discussed around here before, I believe. The Iron Cross insignia on the wings especially - this may have been a retouched photo or maybe even one of the Cockburn-Lange shots? Anyway, a very nice image!
Romani, here's a precursor, if you will, to that stunning Dogfight Dixon painting you posted:
Another D.H.4 (well, sort of) bombing another German gun.

Speaking of Jim Laurier and his fine work on the covers of the "Duel" series, here's Jon Guttman's latest, due out in a few months:
Jon keeps cranking these out, thank goodness, with a little help from his friends.
