Art Center College of Design ~ Los Angeles

about a year ago, there was a thread going on here in the art section that contained discussion between two ACCD alumni, aviation artists, jim deitz and michael backus. they discussed their time at the world-renown art college and i looked up ACCD's website.

the website told about summer workshops the college offers high school students and i had my two teenagers apply for scholarships for the summer classes. they both passed the portfolio review and were awarded sholarships.

they've been attending their classes in painting and transportation design all this week at the lower campus. today, we visited the main campus and were amazed at all the activity and the top level of student work. now both my kids want to attend college at ACCD.

there is a new high school charter school in los angeles that is in partnership with ACCD. something else for us to consider in the meantime.

i went in to the ACCD archives office today and asked if they had anything on deitz or backus. they didn't. are you guys sure you went there?
