Illustrator for " The Red Knight of Germany "

I know that Clayton Knight illustrated the hard ,1927, copy of this book. In the late 50's this book was printed in a paper back version. I remember the books cover was nicely done and the pen and ink illustrations inside really held my interest. as a matter of fact, this book started my undying interest in WW1 aviation and especially involving with the Red Baron. Does anyone know who this artist was? THe book was printed by Bantam Books as a new illustrated abridgment. ......Bob.....

Bob,

I still have my Bantam paperback copy of "The Red Knight of Germany" by Floyd Gibbons. I purchased it back in 1959. I was 14 back then. I went an looked through it and it does not list the illustrator.
And like you reading this book and "They Fought for the Sky" by Quentin Reynolds gave me lifelong love for WWI aviation.

I checked this book out from the library and it was great. Due to the fact that it was an old book it had an orange cover with the title on the side. If any of you have the cover art and can send it to me that would be great.

Tom, you are so right! I remember getting that book right after, the cover really caught my attention, that was followed by " The Falcons of France " another great cover, I remember copying that cover many times. I was able to stimulate my talent for art by reading those book with those great covers. Don't have a scanner but I still have those old Bantam books........Bob......
