New Work (sort of) - Albatros CXII
Now that this Datafile Issue has hit the stands I can show off the cover art. (I actually completed this piece back in January.)
This is a piece that I did at the request of Terry (Taz) Phillips for the cover of Datafile #129, Albatros C.XII, Vol. 2. Taz stepped in to complete this issue upon the passing of Peter Grosz. Congratulations to both Taz and Ray on a great issue.
Testing Time - The Beobachter of the sleek and elegant Albatros C.XII(OAW) C1200/17 looks over the cockpit side during a qualification test flight. As was normal for most back seaters, he was not strapped in with a belt or harness during large portions of most missions. This aircraft was the first OAW C.XII built and was used as a typenprüfung or test-type for OAW production of 100 C.XII aircraft. The OAW C.XII were plagued by weight gain during their production, which seriously compromised their performance.

Rus,
What a nice job you did! Your use and control of color is amazing.

Fantastic!
Well done Rus! Your art work is always very realistic, and you have depicted the CXII very nicely! I love your colours!
Best wishes, David.

Thanks so much, guys.
Mike, sorry, but no plans to release this one on print. You'll have to buy the Datafile issue to get a copy of this one.

What part of GA are you guys in? Just curious because I grew up in the Augusta area and I have a lot of family in Savannah and Atlanta. Unfortunately my wife and I are going to visit her uncle out on the NC coast that weekend, but perhaps I might be able to make the next event.

southern dawn patrol
Southern Dawn Patrol will be held in the Andersonville/Americus area at Hodges Hobbies. "Google" it and go to the website, please. Thanks for asking.
